I BET ON MYSELF.. AND WON.
You’re supposed to be scared. You’re supposed to have doubts. And you’re supposed to still do it anyway. They say if it were easy everyone would do it – which is very true, but they fail to mention the part that says anyone CAN do it. For me it was a pretty easy decision to bet on myself. I came into my office job late December of 2017 and looked at 30+ unread emails in my inbox – then I literally said to myself, “I’m done.” The moment will come to each person in a different way – but when it does come, don’t ignore it. I didn’t have a billion dollars saved up. I didn’t have a whole bunch of gigs lined up. I didn’t wait for the “right time” because that time will never come. I bet on myself.. And I won.
Since officially quitting in January of this year, I have been on a plane so many times I truly have lost count. I have built relationships that never would have existed before. And I am so damn happy that every day I wake up I actually just smile for no reason. I received news this week that I closed my first contract of hopefully many to come that will pay me almost as much for 1 project as I would have been paid for almost 1 month of work at my old office job (160 hours to be exact).
I just wanted to share this with anyone who reads my stuff looking for that push or motivation. We always hear success stories from people that we don’t feel we can truly relate with or are so unattainable we have no personal attachment to them – so I hope that hearing this from me can make your dreams seem that much more achievable. Many of you have witnessed my entire journey to this point and your support has yet to go unnoticed believe me.
